The accommodation comprises of:

One bedroom ensuite self-catering apartment. Guests have a choice of double or single beds in the bedroom and there is a double studio bed in the living area. Sleeps up to four people.

Guests have a patio area where they can enjoy the stunning views of Ballinabehy mountain and Munakill lake to the front and Doagh mountain to the back. The apartment itself has huge windows which enhances the guests panoramic views of the area.

You are supplied with a 'welcome box' containing Organic, Fairtrade and Local Produce to get you started.

     

There is a well equipped kitchen with microwave, electric oven, gas hob and a washer/dryer.There is a TV with dvd player, broadband access available on request.DVD's and CD's supplied for guest use.

Baby friendly: Cot and local babysitting service available on request.

Child friendly: The apartment itself is located on a working farm where guests can interact with the animals and in Spring help out with feeding new born lambs. There are lots of native trees surrounding the lodge where children can safely explore. The surrounding fields and ditches are awash with wild flowers in Spring.

There are children’s playgrounds located in Manorhamilton, 6km away or at Glenfarne, 5km away and Blacklion 13Km away. A picnic basket is available for guests use and there is a beautiful picnic area on the shores of Lough Macnean 6km away. Liath, the resident cat is always looking for someone to play with as is Prince, the sheep dog next door. Nelly, the neighbours horse loves visits form kids with choccy biscuits and bits of left over fruit!

Teenager Friendly: Teenager Friendly; Teenage disco in Manorhamilton depending on time of year, surfing at Bundoran 23km, water and land activities, -canoeing, banana boat, orienteering, caving and mountain biking available at Corralea Activity Centre, 15km. Ireland Eco Tours one or two day packages available, mountain biking, hill walking and surfing, pick up at door available.

Wheelchair friendly: Wheelchair accessibility to premises, ensuite and patio, wheelchair taxi available locally. Wheelchair accessible fishing pier at nearby Lough McNean.

Cycling and walking: Kingfisher cycling trail and North West Cycle trail: maps and bicycle hire available locally. The Leitrim Way walking route is visible from the Lodge. The North Leitrim Glens is an area renknowned for it’s hill walking, affording fabulous views of the surrounding land and seascapes, guide available on request.



Fishing & Golfing: Lough Macnean 6km away, Lough Melvin 15km. Golf at Blacklion Golf Club 14km

We provide a ‘welcome box’ for guests, which includes locally produced preserves, bread and milk, organic cereal and fair trade tea and coffee. Guests are also given information on locally available and organic produce. Guests are provided with information on biodiversity, archaeology and heritage of the area as well as information on local arts and culture. You don't even have to leave the premises to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and lake. Tawnylust Lodge is surrounded on three sides by native trees and you can observe birds about their daily business, and if lucky, see a fox that comes to steal the cat's food in the evening! In Spring and early Summer the surrounding fields are alive with wildflowers and the bats are seen out hunting after dusk.
