Ranfonnées guidés de “Paysages de Leitrim”

Forage for mushrooms & wild edibles in Glenfarne Forest, by the shores of Lough Macnean. Walk in Lurganboy forest in Spring surrounded by bluebells and primroses. Climb Tullyskerney and visit a Neolithic to Medieval archaeology site with spectacular views of the countryside. Immerse yourself in the natural environment in this wonderful location.

Join Tina and Nuala, your guides who will give you the history, folklore, natural history and lots of information on biodiversity. On your foraging walks we will give you cooking and health tips for your forage so you can go home and try out your finds. Both being from the area, we can tell you the local stories such as the one about the Dobarchu (water dog) at Glenade lake or Diarmuid & Grainnes bed in Ballintrillick and we can even make up a few as we go along.


Nuala was born about 500m from Tawnylust Lodge and is an avid hillwalker, she has been involved in tourism and eco-tourism in the region since she could crawl! Tina, living in Manorhamilton for over 20 years is an archaeologist and wildlife expert. Tinas passion for nature and heritage is evident in her enthusiam for the subject. She is particularly experienced in mushroom and fruit foraging and can be found any day tramping the hills of North Leitrim with something tasty stashed in her rucksack or pocket!
